Brandon J. Iskander is a bankruptcy and litigation attorney handling complex creditor, trustee, and debtor representations. He draws on broad experience across hundreds of bankruptcy matters, including consumer, business, and fiduciary‑side engagements. Mr. Iskander is a credibility‑focused advocate whose work reflects careful record analysis, appellate‑quality writing, and disciplined, consistent advocacy on behalf of clients. His practice includes the prosecution and defense of multimillion‑dollar claims involving substantive consolidation, breach of fiduciary duty, fraudulent transfers, and other insider‑liability theories. He has successfully subordinated several multimillion‑dollar secured claims under 11 U.S.C. § 510 and has prevailed in challenges to homestead exemptions under both federal and state law. In recent years, he has also served as counsel in high‑visibility bankruptcy litigation involving complex questions of estate property, trust‑fund characterization, and the limits of avoidance powers.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Iskander is actively involved in the bankruptcy bar through his ongoing commitments to legal writing, education, and professional leadership. Mr. Iskander is Vice President of the James T. King Bankruptcy Inn of Court and a member of the Insolvency Law Committee of the California Lawyers Association. He previously served as Chair of the Orange County Bar Association Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section for 2025. He has been recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyer for 2025 and, before that, as a Southern California Rising Star for four consecutive years (2021–2024). In addition to his regular practice, Mr. Iskander routinely writes on developments in bankruptcy, tax, and commercial law. He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Central District Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys Association, the Orange County Bar Association Tax Law Section, and the Orange County Lavender Bar Association.
Mr. Iskander previously served as President of the Inland Empire Bankruptcy Forum (IEBF) for 2022, following service as a director from 2020 to 2022. As Program Chair in 2021, he developed innovative and widely attended legal education programming, including programs on corporate insolvency and the strategic resolution of litigation. Since 2019, he has served as the standing moderator of the IEBF’s Annual Survey of Consumer Bankruptcy Law, a thirty-year tradition within the Riverside bankruptcy bar. He has also served as a program producer for the California Bankruptcy Forum’s 2024 and 2025 statewide conferences.
Mr. Iskander has been a featured speaker on numerous programs throughout the Central District of California, including: “Avoidance Claims in Bankruptcy: Hot New Issues and Cases” (February 2025, OCBA Commercial Law & Bankruptcy Section); “Unauthorized Bankruptcy Filings: Key Issues and Approaches” (April 2024, OCBA Commercial Law & Bankruptcy Section); “Drafter Beware: The Impact of Bankruptcy Upon Prepetition Contracts, Settlements & Stipulated Judgments” (February 2024, OCBA Commercial Law & Bankruptcy Section); “Ethics in the Use of AI in Your Bankruptcy Practice” (October 2023, Federal Bar Association, Los Angeles Chapter); “Mind Your Ps and Qs (And Os) – the § 522 Homestead Exemptions” (October 2021, CDCBAA); and “Recent Bankruptcy Decisions Relating to California Community Property Law” (September 2020, Orange County Paralegal Association).
Before joining Goe Forsythe & Hodges, Mr. Iskander spent more than five years at a bankruptcy legal services boutique. During law school, he served as one of former Rep. Katie Porter’s founding legal assistants at the California Monitor Program, helping to enforce the National Mortgage Settlement of 2012. He was a research editor, lead article editor, and article editor for the UC Irvine Law Review. He also externed for the Honorable Catherine E.
